Lignes sauvages. This is the name of Yuval Pick’s new structure. Under his direction, the choreographer will continue to develop his repertoire, creations, as well as transmission and territorial projects based on his ® Practice method.
Lignes sauvages will be based in the Lyon metropolitan area. And from the towns of Oullins and Craponne, the association will spread throughout the region and across a wide range of territories, urban and rural, near and far, with the same determination: to create strong links with local residents through the presentation and the deployment of participatory projects.
One of the of Lignes sauvages will take the form of a participatory creation with dance enthusiasts of all ages. This in situ creation will be adapted to all terrains and audiences. In this way, local residents will be more than just spectators, they will participate in the creation of a new, sensitive language, designed to find common ground and embrace individual differences. Through their experience, the art of dance will penetrate the heart of society and enrich our relationship with others.
More broadly, Wild Lines will carry Yuval Pick’s rich repertoire, including works such as Acta est fabula (2018), Vocabulary of need (2020), Pazaz (2020), FutureNow (2021) and Into the silence (2024), to stages across France and around the world. New creations will also emerge, deepening the choreographer’s relationship with music and drawing from the core principles of his Practice method.
Practice will continue to travel beyond France’ s borders. In 2025 , Practice will be the subject of two major transmission projects, respectively at The Place in London and Bard College in New York State. Finally, it will be at the heart of Rafael Molina ‘s empirical research, called “A critical look at Yuval Pick ‘s Practice method: identification, formalization and training of transmitters “, conducted with the support Center national de la danse ( Dance Research and Heritage Grants).
